Other titles that released as Google Stadia exclusives have already launched on other platforms. The blurb says, “We’ve been working on it for a long time and it’s finally time to make it official.” Before the game even launched, Google had already stated that GYLT would only be a timed exclusive on the platform, so this is not entirely unexpected. A brief post on the developer’s official website specified that the horror title will be making the move to other platforms in 2023, though the exact date and platforms have not yet been revealed. Covering themes like bullying and childhood nightmares, the game puts players in the role of Sally, who is on a quest to track down her missing cousin Emily and delves into a creepy world populated by frightening creatures.

GYLT was the first exclusive title released on Google Stadia and is an action-adventure game with puzzle and spooky elements.

This announcement comes after Google revealed in September that Stadia will shut down on January 18, 2023, and many people expressed concern about games like GYLT that were either released solely on that platform or had Stadia exclusive features. It's still unclear how well Stadia will work with anything less than gigabit internet speeds (sorry, gamers with data caps) and Gylt's final quality isn't guaranteed, but signing on a small developer with a solid track record to develop a charming exclusive for their debut console may be a good sign of things to come.Tequila Works has confirmed that its Stadia exclusive horror title GYLT will be coming to other platforms sometime next year. Though a subscription-based, game-streaming service like Stadia sounds a bit terrifying on its face, Google's embrace of an indie studio looking to scare the socks off of players in the traditional manner should restore at least a small sliver of the gaming community's faith in the product.

Nevertheless, the trailer looks equally compelling in terms of premise and appearance, so it can only be hoped that the final product ultimately resembles what potential Stadia owners will get when (or if) they get their hands on it.

Gylt's June 6 announcement coincided with the long-awaited reveal of Google Stadia's pricing and subscription details, giving early adopters something to look forward to until more studios come aboard. Though the game has strong artistic direction, the lesser specs and mobile-friendly nature of Stadia will doubtlessly be holding Tequila Studios back from allowing Gylt to reach its full technical potential.
